“Next-day install.” The honest version.
Published April 14, 2026 · 5 min read
Every HVAC company in Florida advertises “next-day install.” For about 70% of customers, it's exactly what you'd think. For the other 30%, it means something more like “as soon as we can get the right equipment out of the warehouse, which is usually Tuesday if you call on Friday.” Here's the honest breakdown.
Next-day is real for standard 3-ton and 4-ton split systems in the Tampa / Miami / Fort Lauderdale metros, assuming you call before 10am and the equipment is in stock at a local distributor. Everything else is 2–5 business days.
What next-day actually requires
- Equipment in stock at a local distributor. Standard 14–16 SEER2 splits in 2.5, 3, and 4 tons are almost always available. Heat pumps with variable-speed inverters (SEER2 17+) frequently need to be ordered from Atlanta or Houston warehouses.
- A permit office that can issue same-day. Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Miami generally issue residential HVAC permits within a few hours. Some smaller jurisdictions (Sarasota, Palm Beach) can take 24–48 hours.
- A crew with an open slot.Summer weeks in Florida book solid by Wednesday. If you want a Friday install, you're calling Thursday morning. If you want a weekend install, you're often waiting until the following week.
- No surprise prep work. If your electrical panel needs an upgrade, or your ductwork is asbestos, or the old concrete pad is crumbling, those become separate appointments.
What usually delays it
- Unusual tonnage. Everyone stocks 3-ton and 4-ton. 2-ton and 5-ton are usually next-day-after-delivery. 1.5-ton mini-splits are almost always at least 2 days.
- Variable-speed inverter systems. The top SEER2 tier (Premier / Optimum in our line) is often stocked in limited quantities. Expect 2–3 days.
- Heat kits for heat pumps. Even basic heat pumps need an auxiliary heat strip kit, and those occasionally backorder.
- Permit inspections. Some jurisdictions require a pre-install permit inspection, which adds a day even if the equipment is ready.
- Crane-accessible homes. Second-story package units or rooftop condensers need a crane rental, which is usually booked 24–48 hours in advance.
What we promise
NewHVACDeals' next-day promise is specific: if your assessment is complete before 10 a.m. and you pick a standard-stock system, we install the next business day. That covers roughly 70% of Florida orders. For the other 30%, AIRA shows you the honest delivery estimate during checkout, before you put a deposit down. No surprises.
The deposit-to-reserve model matters here: if you lock in pricing today and the right equipment turns out to be 4 days out, your pricing is held and your deposit is still fully refundable. You're never committed to a delayed install against your will.
The emergency scenario
If your AC is dead on a 95°F day and you have elderly family members or infants at home, call us at (813) 217-3600 instead of running the online assessment. We keep a small emergency-slot pool open for exactly this and can usually get a crew to you within 4–6 hours. The online flow is optimized for the non-emergency case.
